One of the most important things that you need to know before climbing Damavand is the weather and climate condition of Damavand Summit.
Damavand Mountain is in the Iran Plateau, and it's a warm and dry Plateau, so the weather of Damavand summit totally is warmer than the mountain with same altitude such as Elbrus and Ararat. But it's not meaning that you don't need to strong and good equipment.
Usually at summer the temperature of Damavand Summit is approximately between -15 to +5 centigrade. But at the extreme conditions and storm weather it may be less than this.
At the summer, in normal situation, temperature of Damavand summit is near to 0 (Centigrade) at noon, but at the winter it usually less than -20 (Centigrade).
